In love/Kamalika Bhattacharya

In love
Kamalika Bhattacharya

The Touch I Cannot Hold ...

I miss you and yet, you are near,
A whisper felt but never clear.
Your unseen touch, a fleeting wonder,
Like moonlit waves that pull me under.

I search for you in skies so wide,
In fleeting stars, in ocean's tide.
A love unknown, yet deep it grows,
A silent song the heart still knows.

My tears fall soft—both joy and fear,
A trembling hope, a shadowed tear.
Afraid to lose what’s never mine,
Yet bound to you in threads divine.

For though we’ve never truly met,
My soul remembers, won’t forget.
You are the echo in the air,
The dream I chase but can’t declare.

Traces of a fading past

I never asked for what I gave,
Nor kept account of what I received.
So if you ask me to return it all,
I’d only smile—what a foolish call!

Dust gathers in the corners still,
On faded frames, against my will.
Black-and-white echoes of days gone by,
Drift through clouds in the digital sky.

New colors paint the world anew,
Yet stains of yesterday bleed through.
In silent afternoons they call my name,
A whisper wrapped in quiet shame.

Tell me, how does one forget?
What cure can turn old grief to mist?
Or must I lose myself in dreams,
Then wake and chase the sun’s bright beams?

Perhaps you’ve learned to cast away,
To shake the past and walk away.
Surely so! And yet, I find,
Regret is but lost time—unkind.

Why I Love You

I know not why I feel so bright,
Bathed in your gaze, like moonlit night.
Your laughter brings an ocean’s bliss,
One fleeting glance—my pain dismissed.

Your gentle face, so calm, so pure,
Rains down peace, my soul’s cure.
In your spirit’s tender grace,
Like a creeping vine, I find my place.

Your lowered eyes, a sacred space,
Where my honor finds embrace.
Your words, a whisper, soft and deep,
Breathe in me the air I keep.

And yet, you ask me why I do,
Love you so—if only you knew.
You are the joy upon my lips,
The endless glow my heart equips.

The reasons stretch beyond the skies,
But let me wait—let time suffice.
One day, my love, when side by side,
I’ll tell you all, with arms open wide.

Forgetting You

The day I forget you,
I will forget myself too.
Faded verses, once etched in ink,
Will crumble like autumn leaves in the wind.

The day my longing for you fades,
My light will dim, my soul will stray.
Lost in shadows, adrift in time,
The flame within will cease to shine.

The breath I take, once laced with you,
Will hold no trace of life anew.
No morning song, no midnight star,
Only silence stretching far.

No touch of time, no gentle air,
Can erase the love we shared.
You linger in the whispering breeze,
You echo in my soul’s deep grief.

The day I no longer yearn for you,
My dust will rest in earth’s embrace anew.
